How Hollywood Writes Evil
Jake gyllenhaal’s performance in “Night crawler” is a far better and more realistic at the true nature of malevolence than Anthony Hopkins in “silence of the lambs.” I consider it slap stick comedy when he does that weird slurping thing with his mouth after “liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.” It a killer did that I’d literally make fun of them. Same with his heightened sense of smelling female hygiene brands. It’s bad writing. The whole movie was propaganda to get people to think gender affirming surgery would have healed buffalo bill. So why did Hollywood ignore “night crawler”? American psycho is better acted and more realistic but not as accurate as “nightcrawler” and Hollywood loves it. I figured out the exact scene that made Hollywood feel collective shame and ignore the film.
In this episode we look at American psycho, Nightcrawler, up in the air, silence of the lambs, and peripheral and analyze how a predator depicts predators when writing for prey. Let me know what you think.
