OliveTreeBear presents his newest song, “A Silly Game,” featuring OldWiseBear. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the lyrics were inspired by musings on dating and relationships by Big Bear, as well as by Bonanza Bear and SharOnBear on the OverSharon podcast! Performances also include backing vocals by SharOnBear, a featured painting by HandDrawnBear, rhythm guitars by WoodShopBear and BoardGameBear, and guitar solo by TelecasterBear.

This is the sixth release by OliveTreeBear. The first 5 OliveTreeBear releases (Walk of One, The Fool’s Choir, Beartaria Sea Shanty, Crowned, and Assembly) are officially up on Spotify, Apple Music, etc and Subscribestar is active!

Also available on Spotify and all other streaming platforms.

Lyrics:

Did you see me the same
As I saw you when our paths crossed?
Do you want the same things?
Do you feel the pull of the weight?

Tending toward collision now
Could I just give you a call?
If there’s sparks, if there’s a flame
I will let it burn so slow

When I laugh you laugh, smile you smile
Can it be such a simple fate?
What a silly game we play
When we complicate
Because one conversation can
Turn into a whole life
All the things that we don’t say
When we complicate

Mixed signs. Are we aligned?
Do you think about these things too?
I try to play it cool
Do you see a king or a fool?

Shutting out the questions now
Cause the stress is just a stall
Give the dice, a little roll
Let them fall where they might fall

When I laugh you laugh, smile you smile
Can it be such a simple fate?
What a silly game we play
When we complicate
Because one conversation can
Turn into a whole life
All the things that we don’t say
When we complicate

But there is a solution and we
Can just be ourselves tonight
Throw the guessing games away
Leave it all to fate
Because one conversation can
Turn into a whole life
What a silly game we play
What a silly game
